Getting fit brings not only obvious physical benefits, including weight loss, improved cardiac efficiency, better sleep patterns, improved digestion, but also mental well being. This leads to a happier life style and greatly improved quality of life. Whenever the weather permits Lorraine believes in taking her fitness activities in the outdoors, using natural features & terrain to replace the restrictive atmosphere of a gym.
Have you ever watched biathlon or cross country skiing in the winter Olympics? And have you looked at their lovely bodies – well stop drooling!! They actually go out training in the summer months with their ski poles in exactly the same way as we do when Pole Walking.
Our poles are cross-country ski poles, chest high so that we work both the bicep and triceps as we use the poles to push off. During the Pole Walking work out I include many different exercises so that you get a full body workout. Yes, you may ache after your first session – everybody does but my clients always come back to laugh, groan and do it all over again!!
